Parent Support Advisor
Suzanne Matthews
Walworth is a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) School which can offer Dads, Mums and Carers support from our Parent Support Adviser (PSA), Suzanne Matthews
Suzanne has worked in the PSA role since 2009.
As well as being rewarding, parenting and caring for a child can be a demanding and frustrating job.
Suzanne is here to offer non judge-mental advice and support to Dads, Mums and Carers in any matters concerning your children’s education and development.
Parents and carers are the single most important factor in shaping their children’s wellbeing, achievements and prospects.
Suzanne is available to:
- Help out with any concerns you may have.
- Support you and your child during important changes in the school year.
- Provide help and advice about services that may be of benefit to you including housing, finance and mental health
- Help and support you and your child throughout growing up and to help you to get along!
- Provide 1:1 parenting support
- Offer training and information sessions around attachment and challenging behaviour
- Encourage parental engagement in school life and learning.
Suzanne also works along side our CAMHS worker, Rebecca Borrill, and puts on free workshops covering sleep difficulties, post Autism diagnosis support and self care for parents among other topics that our parents/carer’s suggest.
These workshops, called Walworth’s Lunch Club, will be advertised through flyers, on the website, on our parents facebook page – Parents of Walworth School (POWS)- on X (Twitter) and in our school reception.
